Waiting season reflects the quiet periods of life when progress feels invisible. The penguin becomes a symbol of courage to continue through uncertainty, also emphasising both isolation and possibility. Waiting Season presents absence as a meaningful state of becoming, and is a reflection of trusting the process and the future to unfold.

This piece was inspired by a show I recently watched - 'Atypical' on Netflix. We often become so consumed by our own life that we forget that animals across the world have their own set of struggles, and the impact humans have on that. Prior to watching Atypical I had not often thought about animals outside of my daily life, but developed an appreciation for them throughout the show - especially penguins. The unique traits of all animal species and how humans often relate to them really inspired me and I can't wait to start my next piece.
