Inspired by a childhood memory of watching bats in the garden. A fleeting encounter that many people relate to, and a reminder that memories are still treasured long after childhood ended.
It's easy to feel as though our experiences are uniquely ours, but often discover that someone else remembers the same things - the beautiful thing about this world is the animals we quietly share experiences with too. This piece got me out of burnout, and is a reflection of the small, seemingly insignificant moments that stay with us - the bats who visit our gardens, wildlife we watch from a distance , and the memories we carry long after the moment passes
